Suribachi Mortar & Pestle


Excellently suited to grind spices as well as incorporating/ emulsifying ingredients of a higher water content (sauces, purées, dressings, etc.), and a wonderfully executed abrasive pattern designed to facilitate the matter to return to the bottom of the bowl. The mortar bowl is made using traditional Iwami clay, and the surikogi (pestle), is sustainable Japanese magnolia. The base of the bowl is fit with a silicone ring to prevent shifting and moving during use, as well as not scratching the work surface. Holds approximately 1 quart; ø 5.1/2" x 3. 1/2" H
