Oak Hangiri with Lid
This wooden basin is traditionally used to season and cool cooked rice, and allow excess moisture to dissipate from the grains expeditiously. This is a quintessential tool in short grain rice preparations. Made exclusively for Accoutre, our hangiri features a few adaptations to the traditional materials, for a more modern sushi oke. The hinoki (cypress) wood has been replaced with FSC certified oak, which is sourced, milled and assembled in the U.S., and the copper bindings have been swapped for extruded banding made of 100% post-consumer plastics. Internal diameter is approx. 13.75" and about 6.5" tall, with the lid attached.
